Answers to your questions.
What are you about?
Moth Electric was founded in 2023 by a long-time veteran of the effects industry with the express purpose of designing and building my ideal guitar rig, one unit at a time. My pedals are a mixture of ground-up designed circuits and expansions/enhancements of classic topologies. Currently 15% of net profits are being donated to civil liberties NPOs.
How do you build your pedals?
All Moth Electric pedals are hand populated and soldered in the U.S.A. with through hole components. While building electronics this way is more costly and time consuming than modern surface mount construction, it keeps a dying practice alive and greatly aids in ease of repair. All hardware used is of the highest quality(Gorva soft switching footswitches, Lumberg I/O and DC jacks) and is mounted outside of the main board. All Moth Electric pedals are wired for True Bypass and are built to last.
How do I power my pedal?
Moth Electric pedals run on 9v DC center negative power supplies and do not accept batteries. Using an isolated power supply is strongly recommended, though not required.
What's your shipping situation?
I currently offer free USPS shipping on all orders within the US, and ship internationally via UPS/USPS for a flat fee. Buyer pays all VAT and duty. If you would like another shipping option, send an email from the contact page and we’ll work something out. Orders ship out on Mondays and Thursdays unless otherwise stated.
Warranty?
Yes, warranty. I strongly stand by my pedals and build them to the highest standard. Moth Electric pedals are covered by a lifetime warranty for all mechanical and electrical failures not caused by user error. If something is wrong with your pedal, send an email through the contact page and I’ll get you sorted. Exemptions include: Spilling beer on your pedal, putting in the wrong power supply, running it over with your tour van.
